He continued to serve his community by becoming a 4th degree knight of the Knights of Columbus and an avid member of the Italian American Club.Īs a follower of Christ, he was extremely faithful and served as an active parishioner and volunteer to a variety of ministries at St. He was a veteran, serving as a member of the 16th and 26th Honor Guard Infantry. He was fair, direct and loud, traits that were appreciated by many who called him associate and friend. Holding various Senior Officer positions in multiple maintenance firms in New York City, he represented his employees, employer and customers equally leading to a strong relationship with the maintenance unions and later as a Consultant for union negotiations. Nick had a “larger than life” personality and was equally respected and welcomed in his business career and personal life. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on September 23rd just a day after Nick’s passing. As a bartender, he befriended many and was hired by “DiBart” who had a niece, Rita, who would become Nick’s wife until his death.

Nick will forever be remembered by his wife Rita, his sister MaryAnn Calabrese, his daughter Annette and her husband Kevin, his daughter Rita and her husband Paul, and his grandchildren, Kevin, Nicholas, Ariana, Juliana as well as many loving family and friends.īorn Septemin Brooklyn, New York, his younger years led him to bartending in the neighborhood until he joined the Army. He is predeceased by his parents Annette and Nicholas Bonamo along with his sister, Gloria Gatti. On Sunday, September 22, 2019, Nicholas James Bonamo, husband, father, brother, son, and grandfather passed away due to complications from cancer at the age of 85.
